Overview of event
SIGGRAPH is made up of many different parallel events, attendees, contributors, volunteers and other individuals and programs, each with their own unique perspectives, interests, and identities. When they’re brought together, the interchange of these elements results in something new for all.
In 2015, SIGGRAPH will have its first Immersive Realities (AR/VR) Contest. The contest’s purpose is to encourage developers to create and showcase the best immersive reality experiences possible using today’s technologies. This includes Augmented and Virtual Reality. The contest is open to anyone interested in the field: researchers, students, hobbyists and professionals. Contestants can use any software and hardware they choose.
Up to three finalists will be selected to demonstrate their technology at SIGGRAPH 2015 during Real-Time Live! The winning team will then be announced from the Real-Time Live! stage.
All finalists will also have the opportunity to demonstrate their systems to attendees during SIGGRAPH 2015’s Happy Hour. For more information visit the Contest web pages.
Agenda
Including a large exhibition hall, courses, sessions and technical papers, SIGGRAPH is highly diverse. When people develop new ideas and emerging technologies in the domain of graphics and immersive experience, SIGGRAPH is one of the places they consider sharing their work with the world. The programs and activities are numerous so visitors tailor their participation to meet their interests and requirements.
