Overview of event
Return on investment (“ROI”) is a measure of the efficiency of an organization’s investments, calculated by measuring net cash flows generated by an investment relative to its cost (cash outflows). It can be challenging for large organizations to conduct ROI analyses on emerging technologies like Augmented Reality. In order to separate the benefits of new technology from market forces which differ in every company, the fundamentals of performing and conducting ROI analyses need to be adapted.
The AREA Research Committee worked with Strategy Analytics, a Boston-based IT market research firm, to develop a best practices report and an ROI calculator specifically for enterprise AR. When delivered to AREA members, the ROI calculator was an Excel spreadsheet. In May, the AREA introduced the Web-based enterprise AR ROI calculator. It is now available for use by members as well as anyone who registers on the AREA’s web site.
