Background And Achievements:
Uvisan was born out of the VR entertainment industry to provide rapid disinfection of multiple headsets on site for Immotion PLC, the company evolved into a separate entity and in 2023 was bought by the directors. As a private company Uvisan has expanded its sales both organically and through geographical and market segment expansion, and has continuously improved the cabinet range and added new products that feature patent pending innovation and offer best in class efficacy. We have products installed with major organisations such as the NHS, Meta and Microsoft and we are increasingly seen as the industry standard for UV-C decontamination.
Challenges For AR:
Without good hygiene, AR equipment in shared environments is potentially dangerous, and fear of dirty equipment is a common barrier to people, either as users or educators advocating the use of something they see as a risk in classrooms, industry and healthcare; a common conversation we have is how this worry affects choosing VR/XR equipment, for example for use in therapy with high risk patients, or even by users in oil rigs.. In terms of longevity, like anything else, poorly maintained or cleaned AR equipment becomes less appealing and physically diminishes more quickly reducing its useful life and as a consequence the ROI of that item when measured against amortised individual benefit over time.
Why AR:
Uvisan seeks to make the use of AR equipment safer, and in doing so in concert with suppliers of AR equipment we believe the reduction in risk will help the expansion in use of AR in vital areas such as therapy and education.
