Overview of event
The AR for Enterprise Alliance (AREA) is the only global membership-funded alliance helping to accelerate the adoption of Enterprise Augmented Reality (AR) by supporting the growth of a comprehensive ecosystem. We support innovative companies that invest in AR technology and who seek knowledge about the tools available, use cases, methods of implementation and return on investment.
Through the Interoperability and Standards program, the AREA seeks to build industry knowledge about the benefits and approaches to achieving interoperability and to advance the development of standards or other approaches to interoperability.
This AREA Interoperability and Standards webinar will span all the activities pertaining to Augmented Reality in the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).
George Percival, Chief Technical Officer and Chief Engineer of the OGC, will present an overview of the OGC’s goals, processes and standards. This will include existing and emerging standards which when implemented can contribute to AR interoperability and integration in geospatial systems and services.
Agenda
Participating in this public webinar will provide:
- understanding of the OGC’s approach with respect to accelerating industry growth through the improvement of interoperability in geospatial systems including but not limited to between Augmented Reality components, services and systems,
- overview of the OGC’s technical standards development process and how companies and individuals can participate, and;
- current status and expected outcomes of member work in CityGML, IndoorGML, Moving Features, Sensor Things, OGC API suite of standards (Features), and GeoPose.
