New Member Leads

As an AREA member, you are in a great position to identify potential new members to join our community. Here’s the process we recommend you follow to support our outreach to potential new members:

  • Contact the person you’ve identified directly and, by way of a memo (see sample) or a proposed meeting, introduce the prospective member to the AREA Executive Director for the explicit purpose of discussing that person’s interest in joining the AREA.
  • Attend the scheduled AREA briefing personally.
  • Follow up with the new member lead at least once after the briefing to assess the likelihood of joining.
