Overview of event
The AR for Enterprise Alliance (AREA) is the only global membership-funded alliance helping to accelerate the adoption of Enterprise Augmented Reality (AR) by supporting the growth of a comprehensive ecosystem. We support innovative companies that invest in AR technology and who seek knowledge about the tools available, use cases, methods of implementation and return on investment.
Through the Interoperability and Standards program, the AREA seeks to build industry knowledge about the benefits and approaches to achieving interoperability and to advance the development of standards or other approaches to interoperability.
This AREA Interoperability and Standards webinar will span all the activities pertaining to Augmented Reality in the IEEE VR/AR Standards Working Group. Dr. Yu Yuan will present an overview of the IEEE standards development process, IEEE VR/AR Standards Working Group’s goals, processes and the emerging standards on which this SWG is working for VR and AR interoperability.

- Understanding of the IEEE VR/AR Standards Working Group’s approach with respect to accelerating industry growth through the improvement of interoperability between Augmented Reality components, services and systems
- Overview of the IEEE VR/AR Standards Working Group’s technical standards development process and how companies and individuals can participate and;
- Current status and expected outcomes of WG member work in the twelve P2048 projects
