AR Security Maturity Self-Assessment

The goal of a Security Maturity Model is to provide a path for Augmented Reality providers and consumers to know where they need to be, and how to invest in security that meet their requirements without over-investing in unnecessary security mechanisms.

An SMM seeks to help organizations identify the appropriate approach for effective enhancement of these practices where needed. Deciding where to focus limited security resources is a challenge for most organizations, given the complexity of a constantly changing security landscape.

The AREA is providing two tools for AR Security Maturity Self Assessment:

  1. The AR Security Maturity Self Assessment (Survey Monkey link). The AR Maturity Self Assessment is a questionnaire that aims to help you understand the current state of AR security within your organization, identify challenges, and gather insights into best practices. Based on your responses, we will provide recommendations to help your organization enhance its AR security maturity. Your input is invaluable in shaping effective strategies for safeguarding AR applications and devices. The self-assessment takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. All responses are confidential and used solely for recommendation purposes.
  2. The IoT Security Maturity Model: AR Profile (white paper pdf). The AR Profile white paper provides guidance for defining and accounting for different levels of comprehensiveness and alignment with industry sector and system, including non-industrial systems. The audience for this document includes stakeholders concerned about the proper strategy for the implementation of mature security practices tailored to the needs and constraints of the specific IoT system. This white paper was authored by the AREA Security Committee, chaired by James Cooper, Raytheon, an RTX company.
