Overview of event

 

DistribuTECH is the largest annual energy transmission and distribution (T&D) event in North America, and covers the utility industry from end to end with nearly 12,000 attendees and more than 480 exhibitors.

The three-day event includes both a conference and an exhibition. In addition, DistribuTech is co-located with the Electric Light & Power Executive Conference (February 8, 2016) and the Utility Products Exposition (February 9-11, 2016).

The conference features a number of specialization tracks:

  • Advanced metering infrastructure, data management and associated analytics platforms.
  • Asset management and optimization of maintenance through risk assessment, conditioned-based maintenance and T&D asset analytics.

  • Physical and cybersecurity.
  • Demand response and energy efficiency.
  • Distribution automation and feeder automation.
  • Energy storage and distributed energy resources, including solar, wind and storage technologies.
  • Enterprise grid management, including outage and distribution management, storm response and damage assessment and centralized transmission operations.
  • Geospatial technologies for better information visualization and easier interaction with stakeholders.
  • Mobile solutions and technologies.
  • Integration of renewable energy.
  • Automation and integration of substations through analytics, equipment condition diagnostics, fault analysis and dynamic line and equipment ratings.

Exhibition

The DistribuTECH exhibition hosts a wide variety of attendees, including utilities, municipalities, federal agencies, manufacturers and more.

Why AREA Members Attend this Event

AREA members who attend the event will increase their understanding of business and technical issues and trends relating to the utilities industry. Participating AREA Members

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) attends this event annually. In 2016 the EPRI booth (2061) will feature the latest projects in T&D. Atheer Labs will also be in attendance.
