Overview of event
This Augmented Reality workshop, co-organized by Manchester Metropolitan University and IFITT (International Federation for IT and Travel and Tourism), examines major trends, challenges and applications of AR as well as Creative AR Hub’s research results on Augmented Reality.
This workshop brings together academic research and professional practice in order to explore how AR will enable tourism organizations to take advantage of emergent technology. As one of the top rising technologies on the market, an increasing number of organizations offer mobile-AR applications to overlay digital content directly into the users’ environment. AR improves user experience in a variety of contexts and the economic benefits are quickly becoming apparent. This workshop will explore the latest trends, benefits and challenges in the context of Augmented Reality and smart tourism.
