Achievements and Contributions
Since forming, theAEC Hackathon has quickly become a global community of thousands of innovators that include all elements of the built environment.
In partnership with motivated AEC community members in nine cities, the AEC Hackathon has helped to organize twelve highly engaging and successful hackathons.
During these hackathons, software and hardware developers and designers team up with built environment professionals and create solutions to solve specific challenges for the built environment. At the conclusion of the hackathon, the jury chooses winning projects and recognizes innovation.
Some teams also produce short videos about their projects. All hackathon outcomes are used to encourage ongoing, long-term collaboration between technologists and built environment professionals after the hackathon is over.
Through these collaborative projects around the world, industrial partners and volunteers are accelerating the adoption of new and innovative solutions for building and managing the built environment.
