For example, a person can, from a remote location, guide another person through field work using the mobile AR software. An expert at a workstation can guide a user using hand gestures, holding up a tool to demonstrate a procedure or by using graphic pointers to indicate a position of interest.
Background and Achievements
XMReality was founded in 2007 by researchers from FOI (the Swedish Defense Research Agency). Since the company´s inception it has carried out advanced contract research in the fields of Mixed and Augmented Reality on behalf of the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) and BAE Systems. XMReality has also participated in medical research programs in collaboration with, among others, the Centre for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV) at Linköping University. The company started its commercialization phase in 2012 and the customer base has increased rapidly.

The company offers a plug-and-play solution for enterprise Augmented Reality. XMReality has designed a video see-through head-mounted display and develops software which, together, provide an optimal user experience for field workers.
